Fikar Fenko Chulheme, Control Cholesterol with Himalayan Herbs

Yes, I succeeded in controlling the level of cholesterol without statin drugs. You also can do it. Please look at my lipid profile in the following table.

My doctors’ friends advised me to start with statin drugs in the year 2008. I maintained conservative approach to avoid lifetime drugs. But my lipid profile tests were giving me warnings. As the longevity is high in our family; I opted to try traditional methods. The management of the case was very clear in my mind. I have to keep check over cholesterol manufacturing units, i.e., liver, intestines and to check adrenal glands secretion.

I use meditation and acupressure points to control heart bits and secretion of the adrenal glands, but was failed to control the production of cholesterol in liver and intestines. Being a vegetarian, I am also conscious about animal fat (dairy) products. I have observed that poor metabolism and colons in the intestines were the great hurdles of my wellbeing. I tried some ayurvedic medicines, i.e. gugal, cinnamon, but couldn’t succeed in controlling cholesterol fully.

Suddenly our one week in-service training came to my help.  I went to Uttarakhand Academy of Administration, Nainital in the last week of September 2011. It gave us an opportunity to visit nearby places and understand some of the Herbs of Himalayas.

One of them was Thyme. Thyme has Thymol, an antiseptic, effective against various fungi. Thyme Tea (boiled water with thyme) can be used for respiratory infections, cough and bronchitis. The thymol and other volatile components in the leaf glands are excreted via the lungs, being highly lipid-soluble, where they reduce the viscosity of the mucus and exert their antimicrobial action. It was very popular in European countries in Middle Ages. I enjoyed the test of Thyme Tea at Mukteshwar.

A short trip to Srinagar brought Kashmiri Kava in my life. The Kashmiri Kava after dinner made my evening memorable. Making Kava (boiled water with saffron) is a tradition from the North -Kashmir area. It is made with saffron. One can add cinnamon, rose petals, cardamom and honey to improve the test. A kava mixed with crushed almonds and little sugar is a testy drink to enjoy after dinner.  It gives strength to the metabolism and also helps to create appetite and be digestive after dinner.

Both the drinks Thyme Tea and Kashmiri Kava belonged to hilly areas and for cold climatic conditions.  Therefore, I made little change in the time table. I started my day with Kashmiri Kava and ended it with a Thyme Tea from 6/10/2011. I started taking 8-10 almonds (soaked in water for 12 hours) as a starter of the day along with the Kava. The morning Kava with soaked almonds cleaned my digestive system and colons.

The Thyme tea with little Rosemary to improve flavour, in night cured me from micro infections in the body, mainly from mouth, lungs, stomach and intestines.

Good rainy season made me free from the worry of scarcity. Meditation and peace of mind control the secretion of adrenal glands. Overall, the quality of life has been improved.

My lipid profile test was conducted on 13/10/2011. You may see the statistics in the above table. The results were surprising. Two weeks outing and one week herbal treatment changed my lipid profile and made me worry free.

You may burn your calories on trade mill but it is worth trying Kashmiri Kava with soaked almonds in the morning and ending the day with Thyme Tea to make the lipid profile normal.

You are most welcome to our house to test the great Herbs of Himalayas.

Shubham Bhavatu Kalyanam.
