Why Lions only in Gujarat

Why Lions only in Gujarat?

The Big Cat, King Lion is a pride and a beautiful marvel of Gujarat. Due to its royal nature, power and kingship mind, it has been accepted as the King of Jungle and Royal symbol of power by all the human kings on earth.

But Cunning Tiger is mightier. "Royalty looses against cunningness". Whole of India had lions but entry of Tiger from the East, pushed Lions down to the West and now they are find only in Gir of Gujarat. There are 2226 Tigers in India v/v 532 Lions in Gir of Gujarat.

Till 1973, Lion was our National animal. In April 1973, with the Project, Tiger was made as India's National Animal.Tiger took away the pride space of Lion.

Surprisingly, Lion has adjusted with the vegetarian people of Saurastra. And Tiger though lived for some time with the non vegetarian humans of eastern Gujarat but left losing competition of food with the human! One Cat (lion) living in harmony with humans and another Cat (tiger) is unable to understand the 2 legs animal till date!

During my visit to Babara vidi of Gir, a lady with her two sons (9,11) was passing through. A group of 7 lions were just 100 metres away. I asked the lady, don't you feel afraid of lions? They are just near by. We are from Gir like them, why to afraid? She replied. If they come, what will you do, you have kids; I further asked. No worry Sir, we will look at them and they will look at us, she replied laughingly. This is the interface of humans with lions in Gir of Gujarat.

In past, Lord Krishna was also pushed towards the west by King Jarasangh (group of Olds). And his final destination was Saurastra Gujarat with a capital at Dwarika.

East and Centre of India is pushing the precious marvels to the West and Gujarat is the final destination for these wonders. They are "Prides of Gujarat."

It is Khushboo Gujarat ki. Kuchh din to gujaro Gujarat mein!!!

Ganga Sati and Panbai

Ganga Sati and Panbai

Ganga Sati was a wife of Kahalsangji Bapu of Samadhiala village of Umrala taluka of Bhavnagar District of Gujarat.

Young Kahalsang was not ready for marriage and went to Girnar with his cousin for Sanyas. But a Sadhu met him in Girnar returned him for a life Sansari Saint. He then married to Ganga and Panbai came as Vadaran with Ganga.

The couple was living a life of Bhakti and they didn't have children. One day when Kahalsang gave life to a dead cow of a Brahmin, Ganga Sati objected the early disclosure if his Santtva. Kahalsang, then took a Samadhi in 3 days and told the villagers to bury his dead body like a Saint. But the villagers put the body on pyre for cremation. But half the body didn't burn for 1.5 days. Finally, with lot of prayer to the Soul of Kahalsang Bapu, the cremation was completed.

Ganga Sati and Panbai, after the death of Kahalsang Bapu lived a life of Bhakti. Every evening, there used to a Satsang at their living campus near the Samadhi of Kahalsang Bapu.

Ganga Sati used to explained the spiritual messages to Panbai and others present through dialogue. And one man Bhudardas Shrimali (SC Brahmin) of nearby Piprali village a regular visitor of Satsang, living in a cottage of the campus was converting the prose Satsangs of Ganga Sati and Panbai into poetic Bhajans.

The Bhajans of Ganga Sati and Panbai we love and enjoy are written by Shri Bhudardas Shrimali of Piprali (Ta. Umrala).

Chilli the Taste of Asia

Chilli the Taste of Asia

Asian food is incomplete without chilli. Western world may avoid eating spicy food under the fear of ulcers and irritating bowels, but the search of spices opened the door of voyages of unknown lands and made the world a global village.

Some studies found the relationship between the longevity and spicy food.
Apart from imbalanced food; humid weather, dirtiness and health hazards are the major reasons for less longevity of Asian compared to the Western world.

Ulcers in stomach and intestines are mainly the outcome of degeneration of mucous membranes of the internal walls. The major reasons are amoebiasis, worms and excessive bile flow from the liver. (the anger, bitterness or irritability are the outcome of bile secretion; we the officers carry the most!). Milk is sometimes adding into the problem of over discharging of mucous membrane in stools.

Chilli is known for adding taste in food and providing anti oxidants and Vitamin C. Farmers across the country eat very hot food, full of red chilli pepper, to maintain their fitness for doing farm labour. If they become obese like babus, we have to feed ourselves through imports of food from other countries!

Chilli act as an appetizer. Its capcisin reduces blood pressure, lower cholesterol and control diabetes. Its Vitamin C give good luster to the skin and Vitamin A improves the mucous membrane. It can fight with migraine and give us a deep sound sleep.

It accelerates the metabolism rate therefore control the weight of the body. Except person who has the problems of acidity, hyper-acidity, ulcer and stomach burning; all can enjoy Chilli, the taste of Asia and Africa.

Those can't tolerate the hotness of normal Chilli, can try Capsicum. And those stronger may try "King Chilli" of Nagaland, very very hot and tasty.

NB: Person with complaints of acidity and migraine may keep watch over the acid formation and convert the acid into base by eating fruits or drinking green/black tea. It will neutralize the reactions. Couple of sips of water at regular intervals is also a good medicine.

Mozambique, a Country on a development mode.

Mozambique, a Country on a development mode.

When India proclaimed a state of National Emergency on 25/6/1975, Mozambique, a country in African Continent became independent after more than 400 years rule of Portugal. But it had to passed through the Civil War for 16 years, settled only in 1992. It is a democratic country. It has directly elected President with the PM and Council of the Ministers from the majority elected party. Never been a part of British Empire, it has joined Commonwealth of Nations in 1995.

Mozambique (801,590 km²), is surrounded by South Africa, Zimbabwe, Swaziland, Malawi, Zambia, Tanzania, It has a long coast line of 2000 kms. The country has major three regions: South, Central and North dominated by Shangaan, Sena and Macua respectively.

It has two seasons: dry (April to September) and wet (October to March). With 25 million population, it's per capita income is $ 1170 (ppp). Fish, rice, potato is their staple food. The literacy rate is 56 % (71 male, 43 female). Bantu is the major tribe. 56% people are Christians, 18 % Muslims, 18% no religion, some Hindus and rest are mixed communities. Hindus are mainly the groceries traders, selling chilly, spices and other items. Portuguese is their official language. But people speak many local languages.

The country is dependent mainly on agriculture. Maize, cotton, tobacco, etc, are their major crops.

It has come in lime light due to high growth rate and recent discoveries of natural gas and minerals. Coal and Gas are the major mineral remained intact in want of machinery and infrastructure.

Though started late in 1992, its progress in enhancing literacy, reducing poverty, providing health care and maintenance of law & order is really noteworthy.

At present, South Africa is the main investor in the country. Indian companies have also started investments. The country is in search of infrastructure investments. They are in need of technical manpower and machinery support to build infrastructure of the country and to explore their resources, for promotion of exports, trades and Industries to maintain the pace of high economic growth rate. Their agriculture is in traditional (use animals) format awaiting large scale farm mechanisation.

They are searching investors and managers. If you wish to explore the resources of an untapped country, you may try luck in Mozambique. There are chances to become a millionaire as it has potential to offer a high rate of return.

India has established its diplomatic relations with Mozambique for last 40 years but much before that it is connected with India permanently. Do you know why? Because it is bordered by Indian Ocean. Water of Indian Ocean connects the hearts of the people of Mozambique and India.

Mozambique, the nation known for its resistance, now in a development mode and one of the fastest growing economies of African Continent.

It's President with a delegation is on a visit to India for strengthening bilateral relations.

We welcome them.

Life is light, a wave and a particle

Life is light, a wave and a particle.

All creatures are wondering from place to place, from birth to death, to complete the cycle of life. Some with direction and some like fallen leaves, fly with the winds.

Dhawal writes:

"The way light is a wave and particles simultaneously, life is also like a wave and particles. As a group, we are a wave, moving in some specific direction. But as an individual, we are like a particle, heading towards individual direction. And dot by dot, making a line, the part of the wave.

The wave represents the group behaviours and the particle represents the journey of life. Together we enlighten the universe/life. And as individual, we are simply a ray of light, or the soul (particle) of divine."

Darknesh, the side effects of Richness.

Darkness, the side effects of Richness

Why did the vehicle of Goddess Saraswati is Swan? And why did the vehicle of Goddess Lakshmi is Owl? Saraswati is a Goddess of light and Lakshmi is a Goddess of darkness. Saraswati is the Goddess of knowledge and Lakshmi is the Goddess of wealth.

When knowledge comes, it brings peace and happiness, the outcome of Satva. And when wealth comes, it brings unhappiness, greed, delusion of mind; the outcome of Rajas and Tamas. Swan is a symbol of peace and happiness and owl is a symbol of fear and sadness.

A friend's friend has worked in Soudi Arabia was explaining the side effects of richness.

Saudi Arabia, one of the richest countries in the world is famous for it's strict law & order. 30% of its people are very rich but others are commons, earning and living. The gap between rich and others are very wide. No entertainments are allowed in public. Mutawa, the religious police governs the behaviour of the people in public. If caught,  the criminals are punished with exemplary punishments.

Women have to wear burkha and to live under male guardian (mahram). The richness brings more wives to male. As the guy get richer but ageing, buy younger wife at regular intervals. As a result a man has 3-4 wives and many children. Sometimes, he may not know the names of all the children. And the youngest 4th wife is not allowed to meet the sons of 1st wife. Obviously, equal in age they may start pairing. The "old man" controls the attraction of youngs by implementing code of conduct.

The rich olds are getting young, younger, youngest wives by paying dinars and the young men are unable to pay for wife, living in frustration. As the laws are very strict, they use the land of Bahrain to drink and ventilate. Many married also go for a change. And wives of them, knowing well of their acts and a risk of death if caught, do take a chance to slip with the car driver or other known male.

SA has earned richness, the blessings of Goddess Lakshmi, and the outcome may be bathrooms made in Gold but many may not have happiness of heart, the outcome of Satva.

We shall worship Goddess Lakshmi to the extent of our need of better quality of life, but shall continue with our preference for Saraswati, the Goddess, who brings peace and happiness in our life through knowledge.

Spices Leader

Spices Leader

When we say Spices States of India, one will start naming States of South India, i.e., Karnataka, Kerala, TN, AP, etc. The Head Office of the Spices Board of India is in Kerala. And the officers posted on that Chair are mostly from that part of the Country.

But do you know, Gujarat is the Spices Leader of India. It is number 1 in the production of Seed Spices. 73% of the total production of Cumin Seed comes from Gujarat. The productivity of Cumin and Fennel is the highest in the world.

Gujarat produces 1.25 million MT of spices per annum. The major are (in Lakh MT): Cumin (3.65), Fennel (0.79), Chilli (0.78), Coriander (0.64), Garlic (3.18), Ginger (1.18), Turmeric (0.65), Fenugreek (0.15), Isabgul (0.23), Ajwan (0.08), Suva (0.22)

Cloves, Black Paper, Cinnamon, Cardamom, Saffron, may be the taste of rich and the Western World, but the food of Common man and Asians is tasteless without Gujarati Cumin seeds and Coriander.

Gujarat has spices to heat up, spices to cool down and spices to push out. Lol.
