Chaturvarna in Geeta

Chaturvarna in Geeta

Shreemad Bhagwad Geeta is an unique holy book of Hindus. It was a preaching of 45 minutes to Arjun by his Charioteer Lord Krishna on the first day of the battle of Mahabharata, some 6000 years ago.

It was narrated to activate (Right Action) Arjun for the Dharma Yuddha (Right Path), but it become a guiding text for all for living better and blissful life.

It's main discussion is on spirituality. Therefore, if we understand the words, kshetra and kshetragya, the true meanings of the verses of this holy book can be understood in its true meaning.

Geeta hasn't advocated the 4 divisions of humans based on their birth varna/castes. Some people have misinterpreted it and without going into the philosophy of the book, condemn it in toto.

It's a spiritual book and talks about spiritual upliftment of each individual. It talks about, God, Jeeva, and Nature. It explains the path of gyan, karma and bhakti to attain moksha/nirvan. How smartly it has separated Jad-Chetan, Vidhya-Avidhya, Dharma-Adharma, Bandhan-Mukti, etc!

All are born Shudra from birth. But as soon as one grow, his/her nature grow depending upon his/her DNA, teachings, environment, interactions, etc.

Nature of an individual has three characteristics: Tamas, Rajas and Satva. Tamas represents idleness, inactivity, depression; Rajas represents activities; Satva represents simplicity and knowledge. Each individual is a mix of all three but one of the characters will become dominant in his actions. And that decided the varna and path of his life. The varnas are for: Brahmana (Satva), Kshatriya (Rajas), Vaishya (Tamas) and Shudra (avidhya, birth position of all). Each individual, who has started as Shudra has to travel upward in spiritual life to higher up varna by attaining its character, and finally to reach the destination of gunatit (free from all 3 gunas/characters) to attain Moksha/Kaivalya/Nirvana.

People act as per the status of his mind, that is governed by the gun dominance of Satva, Rajas and Tamas. The kshetra is our mind and we are the kshetragya. All start at the stage, called "avidhya" (ignorance). With the help of wisdom, karmendriya, gyanendriya, we go on doing karma with "I" (karta) and are attached to its outcome and remain in one of the three varnas. Akarta, gunatit is the stage, one has to travel to attain Moksha.

Arjuna and Lord Krishna are symbolic. Each individual is Arjuna (Jeeva), can reach to the level of Krishna (Shiva/Parmatma)

It is an internal journey, has nothing to do with division of humans based on their birth castes.

Shree Krishna, therefore in verse 13 of Chapter - 4 says:

All are Shudra by birth but become Brahaman with the knowledge of Brahman, the existence.

NB:

Desires, the reason for Dukham (suffering)

Desires, the reason for Dukham (suffering).

Lord Buddha has cleverly answered the questions. Why Dukha (suffering)? Because of desires. How to end suffering? Leave the desires (cause) following right path (eight fold): right view, right aims, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right mindedness, right concentration)

Lord Krishna said, attachment is the reason for all your unhappiness. Detach from them and get the freedom.

When Asia is searching the means to free from desires to end their unhappiness, Western world is busy in finding simulators of desires. After male Viagra, now Flibabserin, the female Viagra is in the market to help the women with low libido.

Sex is a power house of the body. It generates electricity that activate the body cells. It brings new life on earth. It is an act of generation. But the way electricity power house go off, this power house also go off with ageing. The journey of Bhoga kills and the journey of Yoga lifts up.

Desires live in mind. And mind may remain young. With young mind, driving an old car, may lead to accidents. Therefore, the right answer is not in Vigra or in Flibabserin, but in understanding the cycle of life. Each organ including the body has age. It has born to die. The life in it is eternal. With the end of desires, and following eightfold path of awareness; life brings peace, happiness and bliss; the character of the existence.

NB:

"The Character of Happy Life"

How happy is he born or taught,
That serveth not another's will;
Whose armour is his honest thought,
And simple truth his highest skill;

Whose passions not his masters are;
Whose soul is still prepar'd for death
Untied unto the world with care
Of princes' grace or vulgar breath;

Who envies none whom chance doth raise,
Or vice; who never understood
The deepest wounds are given by praise,
By rule of state, but not of good;

Who hath his life from rumours freed;
Whose conscience is his strong retreat;
Whose state can neither flatterers feed,
Nor ruins make accusers great;

Who God doth late and early pray,
More of his grace than goods to send,
And entertains the harmless day
With a well-chosen book or friend.

This man is free from servile bands
Of hope to rise or fear to fall;
Lord of himself, though not of lands;
And having nothing, yet hath all.

Who is Brahaman?

Who is Brahaman?

All are Shudra by birth. There are 8.4 million yonis, and we the human are one of them. There are 14 lokas (7 upper, 7 below). There are Deva, Gandharva, Yaksha, Kinnar, etc, part of the live existence.

On earth except human, others are bhog yonis to maintain the eco cycle of the nature. Holi Quran says, Allah has made them for you.

Do you know the nature has four classes? They are: vegetation, Herbivores, Carnivorous with chief Predators and Scavengers. The grass is a food for herbivores animals, i.e. deers, blue bull, etc. Herbivores is a food for Carnivorous, the wild animals and their chief Predators tigers and lions. Then the Vulture, acts as scavenger, clean the eco system by eating dead animals. Crow, Dog, Hyena are half scavengers.

All these yonis have 1-5 senses. But humans have been gifted with the 6th sense, the sense of knowledge. Knowledge of the Self, knowledge of the Universe, knowledge of the Brahman.

The universe is nothing but Brahman Himself. It is sashvat, akhand, ek ras, nirakar, niradhar, adwait, etc. All exist in it. Without Brahman, nothing can exist. He neither born nor going to die. The jeevas and yonis emerge and submerge into the ocean of Brahman. The Sansara with all creatures moving and acting is not real but the Brahman himself. In separation it is Sansara and in unification, He is the Brahman.

The 6th sense is the seed of Brahman installed in us. The way we feel ourselves live, similarly if we realise the live existence of the universe around, our journey starts. It is an endless journey, full of peace, joy and bliss. There is no emptiness, full of Brahman Himself. Innocent like a child, one feels surprise with the drama of the Almighty. One becomes a Brahaman (second birth) from a Shudra (birth from yoni). The knower of His Leela. We are waves of the Live Ocean of the Brahman, an atom of the Cosmic man Vishnu.

All are Shudra by birth but become Brahaman with the knowledge of Brahman, the existence.

Do you know about Jhalkaribai?

Do you know about Jhalkaribai?

Born on November 22, 1830, she was a soldier and adviser of Rani Laxmibai of Jhansi. Her resemblance was like Rani Laxmibai.

During the battle of fort Jhansi in 1858, she saved Rani Laxmibai. General Hugh Rose attacked Jhansi. Rain was facing the General with her 4000 troops and was waiting for Peshwa's army. But when the army of Peshwa didn't come due to defeat of Tatya Tope, and the incharge of Orcha gate opened doors for English army, the queen had to escape through Bhaderi Gate. At this moment Jhalkaribai confused General Rose. She set out for his camp in disguise as the queen and declared herself to be the queen Laxmibai. This one day confusion gave time to Rani Laxmibai to escape safely to save her life.

Jhaljaribai was a dalit girl of Koli caste. Her mother died in her childhood, therefore, her father raised her like a boy. While herding cattle, she killed a leopard with a stick. Without formal education, she became a worrier.

Rani Laxmibai was Brahmin. And Dalit Jhalkaribai was her soldier and chief adviser. Jhalkaribai's bravery has been sung in the folklore of Bundelkhand.

Bravery shines in all.

Digestion is the Master Key

Digestion is the master key.

From birth to death, whatever we eat,  the digestion process is converting food molecules into plasma to cell/body to keep us alive.

But have you noticed that we are a live wire and are in need of fuel of food carrying nutrients required for the body?

We may fill up car tank with pure petrol and run the car engine nicely for long, but body engine is difficult to maintain as its requirement vary from person to person, from place to place. And therefore nature has built a system inside that store the essential nutrients of needs and consume whenever their is a shortfall.

It's like a bank. When the natural storage gets over, it start consuming the body parts as per priority to sustain the life for a long.

Over storage turns some times into a liability making us obese, diabetic and extra filling in the internal walls. And when the digestion system become weak, the withdrawal from the storage and overdrafts make our body organs weak.

For example, calcium shortage in bloods will be met through calcium of skeleton. If fats are not supplied the liver will generate cholesterol from body required for minimum needs. If over supplied, it gets deposited as plaques. And the system of under supply and over supply make the liver confused, make it working for 24x7 to go on producing cholesterol even if the body is not in need. Otherwise, as per the mechanism, it works like a compressor of a refrigerator with auto stop facility.

It is therefore very essential to address two things.

1. Keep the digestion system upright everyday, every moment. A piece of 'Harad' early in the morning (nihar munh) is very useful to keep the system clean and effective.

2. Take food as per the need of the body.

Now we are in the age of machines, where machine can measure our deficiencies. If you hear the voice of the body, it also speaks, provided you have active ears to hear the inner voice.

Please take care.

Dog & Donkey

Dog & Donkey

My father always stood for justice taught us lessons of life through stories. He used to tell us about the people around, self centered and don't see public good when act. Many become witness of injustice like Bhishma and Drona did when Dropadi was molested by Dusashan.

He explained it with a story of a fight between Dog and Donkey. Dog was biting the donkey with its teeth. The skin was cutting and because of resistance from the donkey, the teeth of Dog were also getting damaged.

Whole village and the people passing through were watching. Some people were enjoying and some were leaving to attend other important work.

One man asked, why can't we stopped them? Both are damaging each other, losing their capacity and strength.

Skin of the donkey is cutting and teeth of dog are getting damaged. Why shall we bother? Another replied.

Are we some times not taking a stand like the later and keeping mum over important issues of justice and liberty?
