Exploration of the Self

Exploration of “the Self” or to enjoy the bhoga of objects through the senses is a choice. Both can also be possible if the state of स्वस्थ is achieved. धर्म, अर्थ, काम, मोक्ष is a Hindu way of life to pass the 100 years of human life peacefully. But while doing Godly Gossips, if one reaches to the Mars (self) as astronaut, it should be the major purpose of life. Before the light (of life) goes off from this body, we shall recognise our true form. 

Where can we hide ourselves? Try the game of छुपा छुपी (સંતાકૂકડી) played by children everyday and try to hide ourselves in any corner or the darkest place of the house/earth. We can’t hide ourselves, the Prakash, the Bodha, the Shiva, the Self, always chases us in नित्योदित state, doesn’t leave, never gets off. We may hide ourselves from other objects and persons, but can’t hide ourselves from our illuminated self, the Shankara. Whether with eyes are closed or opened, if we have leaned to see the Shiva (36) moving in different forms around us including ourselves, the true vision opens up as the third eye. 

There is no desha, no kala in the state of Shiva, but a human with physical body has time line of life years, therefore, before its switch board gets off, let the self illuminate in the state of known. Let the बिंब be recognised by the प्रतिबिंब. 

All विमर्शन is of Him only, therefore, let us remember Him in our daily routine. To start with, “the first bite of anything we eat and the first sip anything we drink shouldn’t go down to our throat without taking the name of God”. One may call him Shiva, Rama, Allah, Father, whatever; remembrance is important, not the name. 

However, the Sanskrit Acharya may say that each Varna in a name carries the power of one of the eight Matrikas, therefore it carries positive or negative energies depending upon pronouncing. But any name if taken with positivity, it turns into positive energy. After all we shall be remembering him in the state of मध्यमा and with practice will go further deep into the state of पश्यन्ति and परा. The destination is the Self, the Shiva. 

यस्त स्थितमिदं सर्वं कार्य यस्माच्च निर्गतम्। 

तस्यानावृतरूपत्वान्न निरोधोડस्ति कुत्रचित्॥ (SK.2)

[जिस शंकर (स्पन्द-विमर्श-बहिर्मुख भूमिका) में सारा जगत (कार्य/प्रमेय) अभेद रूप से अवस्थित है, उस सत्ता के स्वरूप को कोई आवरण ढांप नहीं सकता। उसके स्वतंत्र प्रसार में कोई रूकावट नही।]

हे शंकर, क्या आपके स्वतंत्र प्रसार में कोई रूकावट है? कहाँ बंधे हो? जागो शंकर जागो। भोले बनो। 😊

विवर्त।

 विवर्त। 

विवर्त यानि भ्रांतिजन्य प्रतीति। कल्पित रूप।

जैसे रस्सी को रस्सी समझना सत्य है परंतु सर्प समझना भ्रांति है। इसी प्रकार नामरूपात्मक जगत भ्रांति है और ब्रह्म सत्य। 

एक बार जगत को ब्रह्म (शिव) रूप में देख लिया फिर भ्रांति सब ग़ायब। सब कलह शांत हो जाएँगे। 

लेकिन रस्सी के बदले सर्प रूप में देखते रहे, तो सुख दुःख, हानि लाभ, राग द्वेष, जन्म मरण के चक्कर में घुमते रहना और पीसते रहना पड़ेगा। 

यह दिख रहा जगत परमात्मा का स्पन्द है। एक है, वही है। लेकिन उसको विभाजित करके देखना और खुद को भी उससे अलग- विशेष करके देखना अहंकार जनित भ्रांति है। 

यहाँ न किसी की मौत है न जन्म। बस जैसे एक ज़िन्दा वृक्ष के पत्ते झड़ रहे हैं और नये लग रहे है, वैसे ही व्यक्त अव्यक्त यह सिलसिला चल रहा है। चैतन्य वृक्ष ज्यों का त्यों मौजूद ही रहता है। सदा सर्वदा नित्योदित। हमें अनित्य से हटकर नित्य में ठहरना है। 

यहाँ सिर्फ़ एक ही लोक है। अद्वैत। वही परम धाम है। दूर कहीं और कोई जगह या स्थान नहीं जहां हमें एडवांस बुकिंग करानी है। 

बंधन हमारी नासमझी का है। मुक्ति हमारी समझ बदलते ही उजागर हो जाएगी। सब मुक्त ही है क्योंकि सब शिव के स्पन्द है। बस अलग रहे तो पिट गये और विराट में मिल गये तो मिट गये। मिट गये मतलब समाप्त नहीं हुए लेकिन जीवरूप से शिवरूप हो गये।

विचार।

  विचार। 

“विचार बड़ा सार है, उसका रूपया एक हज़ार है”। मेरी माँ हमें सुभाषित के ज़रिए जीवन शिक्षा का पाठ पढ़ाती थी। एक विचार ही है जो हमें दुर्जन या सज्जन बनाता है। उच्च विचार ऊर्ध्व गति करायेंगे और निम्न विचार अधोगति। 

सृष्टि का सृजन, पालन -संवर्धन और संहार एक विचार ही है। “एकोहम बहुस्याम” विचार पर ही तो यह दुनिया क़ायम है। द्वैतवाद, अद्वैतवाद, द्वैताद्वैत, विशिष्टाद्वैत, ईश्वरवाद, ना ईश्वरवाद, इत्यादि विचार ही है जिसपर कई धर्म और संप्रदाय टिके है।

अर्थनीति भी विचार से चलती है। पूंजीवाद हो या साम्यवाद या कोई अन्यवाद, विचार ही तो है। चाहे दायाँ कहो, बायाँ कहो, मध्य कहो, दायाँ मध्य, मध्य दायाँ, बायाँ मध्य, मध्य बायाँ, जो भी नाम दे दो, है तो विचार ही। 

हिन्दुओं की वर्ण और जाति व्यवस्था एक विचार का ही परिणाम है। लोगों ने मान लिया इसलिए चलता रहा। 

यह राजनीति क्या है? एक विचार ही तो है। जिसने अपना विचार जितने ज़ोर से, संसाधन जुटाकर ज़्यादा प्रसारित किया उसका राज चलता है। हिटलर का उदय भी विचार से हुआ और अस्त भी विचार से। 

जैसे लोहा लोहे को काटता है ऐसे ही यह भी सच है कि विचार की काट विचार ही है। एक को नष्ट करने दूसरा विचार चाहिए। जिसको नष्ट करना है उसकी बुराई करते रहना है और जिसको आगे करना है उसकी वाहवाही। जिस जहाज़ पर चढ़ गये बस वही के बन गये, वही बन गये। 

बस एक ही बात प्रमुख है। स्वातंत्र्य। यह हमारा स्वातंत्र्य है कि हम किस विचार जहाज़ में चढ़े जिसमें हमारी भलाई है और दूसरों की भी भलाई। विचार ही हमारी आध्यात्मिक, आर्थिक, सामाजिक, राजकीय आज़ादी का सूत्रधार है। 

विचार से ही हमारा बंधन है और विचार से ही मुक्ति।

इसलिए स्वतंत्र बनो। स्वस्थ विचारवान बनो। 

स्वतंत्रता में स्वस्थता और स्वस्थता में स्वतंत्रता।

 Rising fast, the BAPS Hindu Temple in Abu Dhabi, UAE

Shri Ram Mandir in Ayodhya and BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi are scheduled to open in January and February 2024 respectively. 

Technology has touched all walks of life and therefore it has made the construction of temple easier and faster in 21st century. Otherwise, who would think of making a Stone Temple 32 metres tall using millions of handmade bricks and 30000 pieces of stone with intricate designs at a stretch of a dessert of Abudhabi (off Sheikh Zayed road, Abu Mureikha district) in UAE. It’s coming up very fast. 

The walls of the temple will retell ancient stories of Hindu scriptures. Each stone here speaks. The interior part of the temple is made of Italian marble and the exterior is made of pink sandstone. Marble part will hv centralised AC system as the temperature of the area rise upto 50.7 degree Celsius in summer. There is a trench of water feature planned to have water from river Ganga and Yamuna, connected with a Library, the knowledge, river Saraswati. 

After the base work, the stone temple becomes an assembly of stones carved and transported from India and assembled at the site of the temple. The artisans at the site give finishing touch and fix carved stones as per the design. Each stone carries a gap in which another stone is fixed. No steel is used. It has reduced the need of manpower at the site and economise the logistics. However the assembling is a smart work.  Each stone piece carved in India is stamped with a specific number and the same code is marked on the carvings that will encircle it. Packaging for the pieces is also branded with the code before being sent to the UAE from India. The project manager at the site checks floor plans for numeric codes to match the carvings being installed and accordingly the artisans give finish touch and fix the stones as per the sequencing. A minor mistake of damaging the piece of stone or replacement of x with y can hamper the work in progress. 

The land has been granted by the President Sheikh Mohamed, the temple is designed by a Christian architect, the contractor company of Parsi, Shapurji Palanji; the funders are NRIs and Indians. What to talk about their generosity. One of the biggest company in sea transport (South Indian) made it free transport of stone and materials for making the temple. 

The work of ground floor is complete. The work of the first floor with engravings that depict the lives of Hindu gods, along with friezes decorated with musicians, dancers, peacocks, camels, horses and elephants is in progress. The brackets will have carvings of Hindu deities. How great the work of artisans that brings life to the stones. The life of the temple is planned for 1000 years as stone gives longevity. 300 hi-tech sensors installed throughout the Mandir, which provide valuable live data of pressure, temperature, settlement, deflection and stresses created by seismic movements, among other things. 

What stood out the most, was the Mandir's inclusivity, which features intricate carvings of Hindu Avatars and Rishis, as well as cultural and moral value tales from ancient civilizations. The Mandir's approach to 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam' is a true testament to its commitment to fostering unity and harmony among all peoples, regardless of their backgrounds or beliefs.

There is a Church besides the temple. A mosque is coming up. Slowly the area is going to represent all faiths in the world. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Khalifa, the ruler of Abu Dhabi is the President of UAE and is a progressive leader. When the tallest building of the world, the sky scraper Burj Dubai was built the then Khalifa and ruler of Abu Dhabi bought is by paying much higher than the cost to save the developers from financial problems and renamed the building Burj Khalifa. The venture became more profitable than expected. The cost of living is high in UAE but the Indians settled here are happier as the remittances they send to India are increasing.

भज गोविन्दं।

भज गोविन्दं। 

शिव का सदाशिव रूप एक योति/ज्योति स्तंभ है जिसे हम ज्योतिर्लिंग के नाम से जानते हैं और उस भोलेनाथ की पूजा, अर्चना, आराधना करते है। कहा जाता है कि, एक दिन ब्रह्मा और विष्णु को उसे नापने की चुनौती मिली थी। एक उपर की ओर चला और दूसरा नीचे की ओर, लेकिन अनंत शिव के छोर तक कोई न पहुँच पाया। ब्रह्मा ने फिर कपट का सहारा लिया, एक साक्षी खड़ा कर दिया और दावा कर दिया। लेकिन झूठ कैसे चलता? ब्रह्मा ने अपना एक मस्तक और पूज्य स्थान गँवाया और जूठी साक्ष्य केतकी पूजा से बाहर हो गई। 

यह एक रूपक कहानी है। यह पूरा चैतन्य सागर रूप चारों ओर फैला ज्योतिर्मय अकल शिव सदा काल, सर्वदा, नित्योदित, मौजूद ही है। उसमें अनंत सृष्टियों के बनने या बिगड़ने से कोई विकार नहीं होता। अनंत ब्रह्मांड बनके बिखर जाएँ, परंतु यह अकल निश्चल है। उसी की ही तो यह लीला है जो ज्ञान संकोच, बोध संकोच कर सदाशिव से पृथ्वी पर्यंत फैल कर इस जगत खेल में सबको प्रवृत्त रख रही है। 

क्या हमें हर पल, हर घड़ी इस ज्योतिर्लिंग के दर्शन नहीं हो रहे? क्या हम इस ज्योतिर्मय स्तंभ से अनभिज्ञ है? मन हमारा ब्रह्मा है और बुद्धि विष्णु, दोनों चाहे कितनी भी दौड़ लगा ले, इस ज्योतिपुंज का नाप नहीं ले सकते।दौड़नेवाली मछली कितना भी दौड़े समुद्र को पार नहीं कर सकती। उसके मन, बुद्धि, इन्द्रियां, और शरीर की एक सीमा है। उस सीमा को पार कर वह असीम को कैसे नापेंगी और जानेंगी? 

जिस घड़ी मन को छोड़ा, बुद्धि छोड़ीं, शरीर और इन्द्रियों के धर्म से अलग हुए, शिव तो मौजूद ही था, वही था, प्रकट हो गया। शक्कर का पर्वत जहां खड़े थे वहीं चख लिया, शक्कर का स्वाद आ गया। फिर चाहे कितना भी गहरा अंधकार क्यूँ न आ जाए, ज्योतिर्लिंग का बोध कभी अस्त नहीं होता। 

असीम हो असीम का अनुभव करो। मन, बुद्धि, इन्द्रियों, शरीर को उसकी बंदगी में लगा लो जिससे की संकोच हट जाएँ और उजागर शिव प्रकट हो जाए। 

“भज गोविन्दं भज गोविन्दं, गोविन्दं भज मूढ़मते।”

शिव प्रकट ही है, बस ध्यान/ज्ञान नहीं।

Spirituality 

The first priority of any individual is to hv better quality of life without discrimination on the bases of caste or creed. Liberty, equality and justice are more important than the unknown unseen Brahma or Void. 

Even Osho hasn’t discarded the theory of God but suggested to become religious so that one can find him out from within. 

ATMA-Soul-Jeeva-God etc are different interpretations of the existence. Man is surprised with the surroundings and the unique life system on earth and therefore in the journey of uncoding the mystery, discovered something which has been penned down as scriptures. However the reality can’t be written but to experience only. Physics has gone upto 200 particles within the nucleus of the atom but overlooked the observer who is penetrating in the nucleus. 

Spirituality is not an exercise to find out some big master sitting at somewhere up in the sky but to realise the true form of one’s own nature, the existence. One may name him anything after realisation. It is more of an individual experience. How the consciousness blocked within the body mass expands to infinite (reality) is the experience of the Chaitanya. And interestingly, it is only ONE for all, whether you call him Universe/s or God, the Shakti (manifestation) or Shiva (the light).

आनंद की खोज।

 आनंद की खोज। 

तीन दिन पहले एक अनूठी शादी के सत्कार समारोह में जाना हुआ। शाम ढल चुकी थी, मौसम ख़ुशनुमा था और पेट में चुहे दौड़ रहे थे। शादी अनूठी इसलिए थी क्योंकि दुल्हा ६५ साल का विधुर था और दुल्हन ५४ साल की एक प्राध्यापिका। दुल्हा बिल्डर होने से अमीर था और दुल्हन डाक्टरेट की हुई सरस्वती उपासक। लक्ष्मी और सरस्वती का मेल हुआ था। हमने युगल को अभिनंदन दिया और युगल के साथ एक फ़ोटो भी खींचवाई। परंतु अंतःनजर तो खाने की ओर जा रही थी। दुल्हन ने शिष्टाचार भी किया की डिनर लेकर जाइए। मिष्टान्ने इतेरे जनाः। 

हम पहुँच गये सीधे सूप काउन्टर पर। गरमा गरम सूप की चुस्की लेते आनंद आ रहा था। स्टार्टर तो जैसे रखे जाते, वेटर उठा लेते थे। इसलिए जैसे क्रिकेट का कैच लपक लेने फ़ील्डर चौकन्ना हो ऐसे लोग रखते ही झपट लेते थे। आख़िर हमारा नंबर भी लग गया और हमने पनीर और ब्रेड का सूप के साथ आस्वादन लिया। 

अहमदाबाद के मेनू में आजकल मोमो ने जगह बना ली है। तीन प्रकार के टोपींग के साथ गरमा गरम मोमो ने मुँह को रसों से और मन को आनंद से भर दिया।उतने में नज़र पड़ी चाट पर। सेव, पकोड़ी पर खट्टी इमली की मीठी चटनी के साथ दहीं मिलाकर किया छिड़काव डीस और मन दोनों को चटपटा कर रहा था। एक डीस चाट की भी झपट ली। लेकिन अब भूख समाप्त हो रही थी। पेट के थैले की जगह भर चुकी थी। कुछ डेज़र्ट के लिए जगह बनानी थी। फिर भी सोचा एक नज़र मेन कोर्स पर कर ली जाए। तीन प्रकार की मिठाई (हल्वा, कोकोनट रबड़ी और मिट्ठी रोटी), दो सब्ज़ियाँ, दाल चावल, रोटी तंदूरी कुल्चा, पापड़, सलाड, इत्यादि व्यंजनों से काउन्टर लगे हुए थे। लेकिन आइटम देखने और गिनने मात्र से आँख और पैर थकने लगे। मन ही मन सोच रहा था कि कुछ मिनिट पहले जो भोजन अति आनंदप्रद लग रहा था अब आनंद जैसे बुझ ही गया है। अगर पुरानी रस्म होती और कोई रिश्तेदार या नाती आकर बल से मुँह में ठूँस देता तो बजाय हंसी गाली निकल पड़ती। आईसक्रीम पर तो नज़र भी नहीं डाली। सिर्फ़ एक चूरन की जगह थी जो थोड़ा मुखवास डालकर डीनर ख़त्म किया और लौट आए। 

हमारा जीवन भी कुछ यूँ ही इस डीनर जैसा है। जब तक नहीं मिला प्यास बनी रहती है। और जब मिल गया, थोड़ा कुछ भोग लिया फिर व्यक्ति, पदार्थों से मन ऊब जाता है।

सबको एक ही खोज है, आनंद की। लेकिन बाहर जिसमें आनंद देखा वह आख़िर दुःख में परिवर्तित हो जाता है। आनंद भीतर है और खोज बाहर। कैसे मिलेगा?  इसलिए भीतर यात्रा ज़रूरी है। भीतर आनंद का दरिया भरा पड़ा है। अमृत का सरोवर है। एक बार चख लिया, आनंद चिरंजीव हो जाएगा। फिर भीतर बाहर सब एक हो जाएगा। आनंद अंदर भी होगा और बाहर भी। अतः स्थिति बाह्य व्याप्ति। 

भीतर दाखिल हो।
