Rama in the Heart
Rama—that is, God—dwells in the heart of every being.
Then a question naturally arises: Was He not present in Ravana’s heart?
According to the law of karma and the principle of free will, every person moves according to the choices they make. Rama was present in Ravana’s heart, but remained unmanifest. When Rama appeared before him in manifest form, Ravana met his end.
Duryodhana, in fact, beheld the Cosmic Form (Vishvarupa) even before Arjuna did, when Lord Krishna visited the Kaurava court with a proposal for peace.
Does that mean Rama was absent from Duryodhana’s heart?
No. He was there. But Duryodhana’s mind was veiled by insatiable desire. That veil prevented him from laying down the burden of his ego. In the end, he lost not only his kingdom but also his life.
Every particle of this universe is Shiva.
Whatever we call good or bad, there is ultimately no “other” behind it.
Then to whom should we complain?
This does not mean we abandon discrimination or common sense. If a tiger stands before you, do not embrace it saying, “You are Shiva.” To protect the Shiva within yourself, you must act wisely and take whatever measures are necessary.
Realization is a matter of understanding.
When the vision changes, the entire landscape changes.
When the boat changes its course, the shoreline changes with it.
As the realization of Sarvam Khalvidam Brahma (“All this is indeed Brahman”), Vāsudevaḥ Sarvam (“Vasudeva is everything”), and Sarvam Shivam (“All is Shiva”) deepens, complaints gradually disappear. Acceptance grows, and peace begins to pervade one’s life. The threefold afflictions of existence—physical, mental, and external—slowly subside.
Then all that remains is:
You alone are everywhere.
I alone remain as That.
God is not an imagined being seated somewhere in a distant heavenly realm, distributing accommodations to souls after death.
God is this very Existence itself—the ground of all existence.
Supportless, yet the support of all—
Alakh Niranjan: the Unseen, the Stainless.
The spiritual journey is to understand That more and more deeply until one finally merges into one’s own true nature.
From the individual to the universal.
From the manifest to the unmanifest.
That is surrender.
