Reincarnation, a question

Shri L Mansingh asked on reincarnation : Pl. also clarify population explosion with reference to the theory/belief of reincarnation.Assuming that some souls were/are   achieving nirvana/salvation from the eternal cycle of death and re-birth,human population should actually be decreasing.Could it be that the souls of animals being annihilated, at least some of them,take rebirth as human beings?

My answer:

Very good question LM Sir asking about annihilation of Souls of animals and some of them take rebirth as humans. Let me explain.

Calculating by numbers is the mistake most people commit in the creative play of infinity. The Soul neither born not die. He is ONE only, the Brahman, the seamless Existence. He has infinite capacity to manifest. Imagine Him as an Ocean and its waves. The eternal existence of God as Ocean and the appearance and disappearance of bodies like drops of water moves ups and down in waves always exist in the Ocean. Emerge and merge as small identity (Bindu) till final merger in the Ocean (Sindhu). It exists in Brahman always but the individuality of Jeeva bhava (avidhya) is a curtain to unveil through the knowledge of the Self, the Brahman.

The humans, birds, animals, all objects in the Universe, etc, are nothing but the manifestation of the Brahman. The Gold is appearing with different name of ornaments or the threads and pictures on a bedsheet is nothing but the bedsheet itself. The Purush manifests through the medium the Prakiriti (Purush is you the driver in the body and Prakriti is the body...The physical body, the subtle body, the causal body)

The bodies take birth and die, appear and disappear. The attachment called desires, till dissolved (like burnt seed that can't sprout) the 'jeeva' (appearance of ignorance-avidhya) in subtle body will tranmigrate till achieve Nirvan, the dissolution of desires/I, in the Ocean, the Brahman.

Hinduism believes in infinite number of Jeevas in 8.4 million yonis. If one read the theory of Dashavatars of God, it is an evolution from Fish (Matsyavatar) to Tortoise (Kutchhapavatar) to Boar (Varahavatar) to Narsinh (half animal half human avatar) to Dwarf Human (Vamanavtar) to Parasuram (human with axe) to Rama (human with bow & arrow following values) to Krishna (human with vision and complete manifestation of God) to Buddha (human with wisdom) to Kalaki (yet to come to remove terrorism).

Don't look at from the small angle of the Earth. In the creative play (Lila) of the Almighty Brahman, there are infinite Universes (Lokas) and infinite Jeevas. Eko aham, bahusyami" (Rigveda), "I am ONE, want to be MANY. The Almighty, the Brahman is One and Countless.

And the Jeevas,
अव्यक्तादीनि भूतानि व्यक्तमध्यानि भारत | अव्यक्तनिधनान्येव तत्र का परिदेवना || 28||
(all created beings are unmanifest before birth, manifest in life, and again unmanifest on death. So why grieve?)-ch2, Gita.

It is probability and possibilities field of life where anything and everything happen. It is a continuous process of evolution and devolution. It is our choice, either to enjoy the journey with eternal peace and bliss or to run after material unhappiness.
